What a fantastic morning to begin the work/school week.
Say, have you ever noticed that Dobby never once reacts to the abuse that Harry receives from the Dursleys? You could have the initial thought that house-elves aren’t aware of the pain humans go through but that can’t be the case because his basic character trait is protecting Harry from harm. And yet he doesn’t realize that the Dursleys are abusing him. How strange, that is, not realizing that the adults in the household are abusing the child! But it’s not uncommon. Research shows that this ‘ignoring’ trait is commonly associated with someone who spent years in a household where a child was being abused and just got so sanitized by the behavior that they forget it’s not normal. Now remind me, what house did Dobby serve again? Hm, interesting…
